Privacy policy

EarnedDesk is a daily earned-media brief for business owners, run by Sentral. This policy explains what we collect, why, and who else handles it.

Your account: your email address, and your name if you sign in with Google. If you sign in with Google we receive your email address and name, and nothing else from your Google account.

Your business profile: what you tell us about your business, such as its name, website, topics, competitors, spokespeople and preferences.

How you use EarnedDesk: the ideas and articles we show you, and basic usage records so we can measure what each account costs to run.

Visits to our website: we use Google Analytics to count visits, see which pages are read and measure sign-ups. In the UK and EU it runs without analytics cookies.

Where you came from: if you arrive from a campaign link, we keep the campaign details (such as the utm source) against your account.

To build your daily brief: we read news, pick the stories that matter to your business, and write ideas for you to consider.

To send you email: sign-in confirmations and, if you leave email switched on, your daily ideas.

To run and improve the service and to keep it secure.

EarnedDesk never sends anything to a journalist for you. You choose what to pitch and you send it yourself.

We do not sell your information and we do not use it for advertising.

Supabase: our database and sign-in, hosted in Sydney.

Google: hosts the app and, through Google Cloud AI, writes ideas from your business profile and a news article. Google is also the provider if you use Sign in with Google.

Perigon: the news data provider. We send it topic searches, not your personal details.

Stripe: takes payment. Your card details go straight to Stripe and we do not store them.

Google Analytics: counts visits to our website and sign-ups.

Resend: delivers our email.

These providers only handle your information to do their job for us.

We keep your information while your account is open. You can ask us to delete your account and business profile at any time by emailing hello@theearneddesk.com, and we will delete it, except for records we must keep by law.

You can ask to see, correct or delete the information we hold about you. We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles.
